What this site does with your information.
Short version: the site does not know who you are, the practice form never leaves your browser, and the only thing it ever asks for is a name, an address and a message if you choose to write in.

What this site is
1041 Mastery is a free educational reference about Form 1041, the federal income tax return for estates and trusts. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no paid plans and no filing services. Reading the guide requires nothing from you.
What is collected when you read
Nothing that identifies you. No account is created and no profile is built. The practice form runs entirely in your browser: the amounts you type are never sent to a server, saved in a database, or attached to you in any way. Closing the page discards them.
The site's hosting platform records ordinary technical information such as the page requested, the time, and the browser type, so that the site can be served reliably and errors investigated.
If you use the contact form
The form asks for your name, your email address and your message. Those three things are stored so the message is not lost, and the message is emailed to the people who maintain this guide so they can read and answer it.
Your address is used to reply to you and for nothing else. It is not sold, added to a mailing list, or shared with advertisers. Ask for your message to be deleted and it will be removed.
Please do not send Social Security numbers, account numbers, a completed return, or anything else you would not want stored.
Embedded videos
Some pages list videos hosted on YouTube, by other people. A video loads from YouTube only when you press play. Before that point the page shows only a still thumbnail from YouTube's own image servers.
Once a video is playing, YouTube may set its own cookies and receive your IP address and browser details, exactly as it would if you had visited youtube.com. That is governed by Google's privacy policy, not this one. Every video also carries a direct link, so you can watch it on YouTube instead if you prefer.
Links to other sites
The guide links to the IRS, the federal register, and other publishers. Those sites have their own privacy practices and this policy does not describe them.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own. The only cookies you may encounter come from an embedded YouTube video, and only after you start one playing.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it. The date at the top is the date of the last revision.
Questions about any of this can go through the contact page. The terms that accompany this site are on the terms of use.
