Terms

The terms of use, in the same plain language.

This is a study guide published for anyone who has to understand a fiduciary income tax return. These terms set out what that means for you and for the people who publish it.

Last updated October 30, 2026

01

Educational use only

Everything on this site is published to explain how Form 1041 works. It is education, not tax advice, and it is not a substitute for the official instructions, the regulations, or a licensed professional who knows your facts.

Reading this site does not create any professional relationship. No one here reviews a return, gives an opinion on a filing position, or acts on your behalf before the IRS.

02

Accuracy and change

The guide follows the 2025 federal form and is corrected when the form, its instructions or the underlying rules change. Amounts, thresholds, line numbers and due dates move from year to year, and state fiduciary rules differ from the federal ones.

Where the site and the current IRS instructions disagree, the instructions govern. Flagging a discrepancy through the contact page is how it gets corrected.

03

Use of the content

You are welcome to read, quote and cite this material for your own study, for teaching, or in professional work, with attribution to 1041 Mastery. Please do not republish substantial portions as your own, and do not present this material as official IRS guidance.

04

The practice form

The practice form is a teaching aid. It computes totals in your browser from the amounts you type and is deliberately simplified: it does not know about your elections, your state, your carryovers, or the parts of the return it does not display.

Do not file anything it produces, and do not rely on its arithmetic for a return that will be filed.

05

Third-party material

Videos are made and hosted by other people on YouTube, and the guide links to the IRS and to other publishers. Those works belong to their authors, are not endorsed by this site, and are governed by their own terms. A link is a reference, not a recommendation of everything else that publisher says.

06

No warranty, and limits

The site is offered as it is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. The people who maintain it are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on it, including any tax, penalty or interest.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

07

Changes to these terms

These terms may be revised as the site changes. The date at the top of this page marks the current version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it.

What the site collects is described on the privacy page. Anything unclear can be raised on the contact page.
